The project is minor however the impact desired was massive. This is because Human Capital required a Reception Area that would give them a new corporate image. An image which portrays them as a welcoming an approachable Department. The challenge which such a small project with a small budget is how do we maximize the space and budget. The approach taken was to attempt to soften the reception and waiting area to make it more welcoming by using softer materials such as timber cladding. The original concept was inspired by the Reception Area at Architecture Building and 501 Executive Suite. Due to budget constraints Balau cladding was not possible therefore we opted to use Pine Wood which is a cheaper timber. The distinct look and feel of Pine Wood was contrasted by the use of strip lighting and a lighter shade of granite tops.
